Mistral AI is a French artificial intelligence company founded in April 2023 that develops frontier AI models, development tools, applications and compute resources. Its stated mission is to make frontier AI accessible to everyone and to address complex problems together with its partners. The company positions itself as a European AI leader combining frontier innovation, transparency, cost-effectiveness and responsibility, and it builds full-stack AI solutions rather than only hosting models.

Its products include Vibe for autonomous work and coding, Studio for building and deploying AI applications, Forge for training and customizing models, and Compute for AI training and inference infrastructure. Alongside these it offers frontier models — a portfolio of language, multimodal, speech and document-processing models — as well as APIs, model customization, document intelligence, speech solutions and applied AI services. Product releases tracked by the company include the 7B model, Mistral Large, Small 3, OCR, Voxtral and Mistral Code, which later became Vibe.

Deployment options span self-hosted environments, Mistral-hosted services and integrations through cloud providers, allowing developers, researchers and large organizations to build, adapt and run models across environments with complete data ownership.
